Construction Update # 3

More workers hanging sheet rock in one of the movie houses

Wind turbines that go on the roof, or at least I think that's where they go.

Not sure what these workers are doing or what they are building

Here's where the steps will go; up to the cinema office

The pre fabed steps just arrived

One of the last times you will see the skeletal outline of a movie house. Soon this will be sheet rocked too!

Looking down the long hallway which has now been completely sheet rocked

High tech sheetrock mover. It's actually a pool table dolly.

Another look at the projector window

Look at all those electrical outlets along the wall. This area is where the games will be

Close up of the electrical outlet

The humble beginnings of an office; a working phone and chair

It's good to know the sheetrock is mold and moisture resistant!

Construction Update # 2

No this guy is not an extra on the set of the new Mad Max movie mentioned in the previous blog, he is simply going through the rubble to find something that might be of value at the scrap yard!

High view looking out over the lobby and game room to the left.

The projector beams the moving pictures through this window onto the big screen, allowing us to be entrained for a few hours.

This shot was taken in the upstairs hallway where all the projectors will sit.

Another brand new heating & cooling unit. Mucho dinero!!!!!

Brand new heating & cooling units. Massive in size and price!

Maybe those two roof workers taking a break should be running this strange piece of equipment. Ever wonder how this stuff gets on top of the building anyway?

Even more workers putting on the new roof. Though some of them are taking a break ;-)

Workers putting on the new roof!

Back view of the wall that just had the sheetrock applied

Very cool picture of sparks flying as one of the construction workers makes a cut into one of the walls about ready to be erected

Great shot of how the walls look after hanging the sheetrock

A peak at the tile that will be in each bathroom

Looking at the bathroom walls.

High view look at where the ticket booth will be

This area will feature a ticket redemption counter where kids(and adults too) can redeem tickets won for prizes! This area is conveniently located beside the concessions and adjacent to the large game room.

High view looking at where the concessions will be

Here's the sheetrock waiting to be hung.

Great look down the hallway inside the cinema. The walls are being prepped for the sheetrock

Looking down the outside hallway. The end was enclosed for more storage and to aesthetically match the other end of the hallway.

Construction Update # 1

The old Norton Plaza sign will be redone with the name Norton Cinema and show times.

No this is not the set to a new Mad Max movie, it's debris from the former Food City/Piggly Wiggly building

Ductwork being installed for the heating and cooling system

Looking at the first 4 cinema houses. The big hole was dug out to help create stadium ceiling.

Plumbing pipes were installed two weeks ago

Outside ceiling which was remodeled before Food City closed the store

Front hallway outside of the building

Exit doors at the front of the building

Entrance to the cinema
